Since 2009, Kilkenny's TV Jones & The Tomahawks have been bringing their high octane rockabilly sound to the Roots festival, while gradually incorporating elements of punk, honky tonk, surf and mariachi into their set, together with two CDs of original material that have established their distinctive sound
This year, they raised the bar for the last gig of the Festival weekend, with the addition of a brass section, Los Gatos, who helped in providing some all-new versions of their best-loved numbers, plus a whole lot of sonic surprises in Kyteler's Inn, which was packed to its medieval rafters!
Great also to chat to super-talented Charlie (Los Gatos), who knew my father and recalled their chats about me studying the clarinet back, once upon a time! TV Jones & The Tomahawks play Kilkenny and countrywide on a regular basis. 'It ain't rocket science its just Rockabilly'.

Graceless Age is an amazing album and 'Little Coloured Balloons', an intensely personal and moving track is one of my all-time favourite songs. I've seen him and met him several times, including his show in Cleere's, Kilkenny in May 2013, Little Coloured Balloons was filmed by my friend Darragh Byrne, Videographer along with a intro by Murry [below].
Not a dry eye in the house was never so apt.
