TV Jones Y Los Gatos

Since 2009, Kilkenny's TV Jones & The Tomahawks have been bringing their high octane rockabilly sound to the Roots festival, while gradually incorporating elements of punk, honky tonk, surf and mariachi into their set, together with two CDs of original material that have established their distinctive sound

This year, they raised the bar for the last gig of the Festival weekend, with the addition of a brass section, Los Gatos, who helped in providing some all-new versions of their best-loved numbers, plus a whole lot of sonic surprises in Kyteler's Inn, which was packed to its medieval rafters!

Great also to chat to super-talented Charlie (Los Gatos), who knew my father and recalled their chats about me studying the clarinet back, once upon a time! TV Jones & The Tomahawks play Kilkenny and countrywide on a regular basis. 'It ain't rocket science its just Rockabilly'.

The Deep Dark Woods

The Deep Dark Woods are a Canadian alternative country band from Saskatoon, currently signed to Sugar Hill Records in the United States and Six Shooter Records in Canada. They first came together in 2005, with the band consisting of singer and guitarist Ryan Boldt, bass guitarist Chris Mason, organist and pianist Geoff Hilhorst, lead guitarist Clayton Linthicum and drummer Lucas Goetz. Founding member Burke Barlow played guitar until 2012.

John Murry

John Murry is an American (Tupelo, Mississippi) musician singer/songwriter, composer and co-owner of Evangeline Recording Co.. His debut solo record, The Graceless Age, was issued on Evangeline Recording Co. in 2013 and listed by Uncut as one of the 10 best records of 2012. Mojo also included it in their 10 best albums of 2013, as well as The Guardian in their Top 50 of 2013, American Songwriter in their Top 5 of 2013, alongside numerous others.

He often writes and collaborates with San Francisco singer/songwriter Chuck Prophet

Graceless Age is an amazing album and 'Little Coloured Balloons', an intensely personal and moving track is one of my all-time favourite songs. I've seen him and met him several times, including his show in Cleere's, Kilkenny in May 2013, Little Coloured Balloons was filmed by my friend Darragh Byrne, Videographer along with a intro by Murry [below].

Not a dry eye in the house was never so apt.
