Roots Ramble - John Murry & special guests

Roots Ramble - John Murry & very special guests, The Pumphouse

Where to start...
It's an annoying phrase but 'You had to be there' is about all that one can say.

A John Murry gig featuring members of The Barflies, John Bleck & the Rats, RSAG, The Midnight Union Band, Cáit O'Riordain, a documentary film crew in a jam-packed Pumphouse, with original songs interspersed with the likes of the Whipping BoyPavement and Karen Dalton

You had to be there I guess.

John Murry

John Murry is an American (Tupelo, Mississippi) musician singer/songwriter, composer and co-owner of Evangeline Recording Co.. His debut solo record, The Graceless Age, was issued on Evangeline Recording Co. in 2013 and listed by Uncut as one of the 10 best records of 2012. Mojo also included it in their 10 best albums of 2013, as well as The Guardian in their Top 50 of 2013, American Songwriter in their Top 5 of 2013, alongside numerous others.

He often writes and collaborates with San Francisco singer/songwriter Chuck Prophet

Graceless Age is an amazing album and 'Little Coloured Balloons', an intensely personal and moving track is one of my all-time favourite songs. I've seen him and met him several times, including his show in Cleere's, Kilkenny in May 2013, Little Coloured Balloons was filmed by my friend Darragh Byrne, Videographer along with a intro by Murry [below].

Not a dry eye in the house was never so apt.

The photos below were taken in and about Kyteler's Inn, Kilkenny.
