Sunday, 11 August 2013 saw Los Angeles' The Rhythm Shakers shake up the Thomas House stage, with their mix of late 1950's Rockabilly/Rock and Roll and early 1960's blues.
Like so many bands, Marlene Perez, the band's fiery front woman and Victor Mendez (bassist) brought the band together by accident at a friend’s house one day (as he had recording equipment in his room), and decided to play around with some cover versions.
The Rhythm Shakers don't have a traditional 50's sound but rather make the music their own adding their own distinctive edge. Quite apart from the music, this band has amazing energy and are without question, some of the nicest people you could find.
The Rhythm Shakers are on Reb Kennedy's Wild Records label.
