Annual General Meeting 2005 in Limerick

GPs Offer Value for Money

Dundalk GP Dr Mary Grehan addressed the motion “That rip-off Ireland should not apply to medicine.” Dr. Grehan feels that general practice offers “good value for money.” She pointed out that general practice is one of the few areas of the health service with high satisfaction rating. And many GPs discount their fees for poorer patients. However, Kilkenny GP Dr Pat Crowley warned that “There are people not availing of our good services because they cannot afford it.” The motion was passed.
